As an active Board of Director for the Mental Health Association of Central Florida, and contributions to the 26th Health & Shepherd's Hope, her impact resonates throughout her community, advocating for mental well-being and accessible support for all.
Her personal life is rich with the experiences that inform her compassionate approach to therapy. Married to a dedicated sworn Deputy, Cherlette embraces the role of stepmother to three wonderful bonus children. Her downtime is filled with laughter and joy, whether it's indulging in comedy, exploring new destinations, or cherishing moments with her family.

From a decade-long career in community mental health to pioneering her own group practice in 2019, Ashlyn Douglass-Barnes has shattered expectations, proving that success in private practice, even while accepting insurance, is entirely achievable. With specialized expertise in bariatric surgery preparedness, support for first responders, and perinatal mood disorders, her work is both diverse and impactful. Beyond her clinical achievements, Ashlyn is dedicated to empowering other therapists through her training business, offering invaluable insights into bariatric psychological evaluations and therapist-to-therapist coaching.
